2025 Health Roundtable Innovation Showcase event hosted in Sydney.
Day two of the 30th Anniversary celebrations we hosted the Health Roundtable premier event the Innovation Showcase. This event attracted 130 attendees who enjoyed international speakers Prof Ernst Kuipers (University of Singapore) talk to the Transformation of Healthcare, and Suzie Bailey (Kings Fund UK) described The Heart of Innovation and Improvement. Beamtree’s Lachlan Rudd took the audience through a well-received presentation titled The Magic of Health Roundtable which explored the impact of benchmarking and collaboration over 30 years. Prof Amith Shetty (eHealth NSW) closed out the day with a narrative of his journey with data in healthcare and where this may lead us going forward.
Concurrent sessions of innovation sharing then proceeded across two rooms. The clinical teams who led improvement projects across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand summarised their work in five-minute rapid-fire presentations which outlined the problem to be solved, the changes made, outcomes achieved, and the lessons learned along the way. Time was made for a short Q&A with the audience who then voted on their favourite innovations. More networking was possible at the breaks as delegates wandered through the poster park and decided on category winners on themes such as Improving Patient Access, Safety & Quality, Financial Sustainability, Environmental Sustainability, and Wildcard.
The top two innovations from each session then battled it out to a combined audience in the Final 8 session which saw the innovation Board of Care - 'Know Your Roll' presented by Anthea Coupland from Royal Perth Bentley Group named as the Top-voted Innovation of 2025. The Final 8 finalists saw a consistent theme of collaboration across clinical teams to achieve improvements in Patient Access and Safety & Quality, to read more about the Final 8 check out this month's Newsletter.
The Health Roundtable Strategy 2023-26 sought external sponsor support to strengthen innovation sharing activities and this was realised with the presence of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA) during the day. Many thanks to the team from RACMA.
In a sector showing growth in jurisdictional innovation sharing events, the annual Health Roundtable Innovation Showcase remains the best way to share your hospital’s advances in care delivery with an international audience and gain unrivalled access to innovative peers from across two countries. An inspiring event to be a part of, and never more so than in the Roundtable’s 30th year. Looking forward to Melbourne in 2026!
